SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – Dorchester County thanks residents who chose to evacuate per Governor McMaster’s evacuation order.

All individuals residing in mobile or manufactured homes should seek shelter in a hardened structure or relocate to an evacuation shelter, according to spokesperson Tiffany Norton.

Dorchester County Emergency Management encourage residents who have chosen not to evacuate to remain off the roads and shelter in place as weather conditions will begin to deteriorate, Norton added.

Weather Watches and Warnings

Dorchester County remains under a Tropical Storm Warning and Flash Flood Watch for Dorchester County.

A Tropical Storm Warning means tropical storm force winds are expected to arrive within the next 36 hours.

A Flash Flood Watch is issued when conditions are favorable for flooding. It does not mean flooding will occur, but it is possible.

Power Outages
