Jerry becomes a hurricane east of the Lesser Antilles

Hurricane Central

CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – Hurricane Hunters found maximum sustained winds of 75 mph Thursday morning officially making Jerry a hurricane.

“Jerry will track just north of the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico later this week before turning north,” said Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Josh Marthers. “Based off of everything we see right now, the storm will pass well east of the United States.”

Jerry is expected to turn north then accelerate northeast through the middle of next week toward Bermuda.
