SCDOT releases Hurricane Florence operations report

Charleston, SC (WCBD) – SCDOT has released their first operations report for Hurricane Florence.

SCDOT is responding to impacts from Hurricane Florence. Crews are removing downed trees from roadways in all Districts.  SCDOT will continue to closely monitor the storm’s progress and adjust response activities as appropriate.  


District 5 has engaged in flood control activities on US 501 and US 378 by installing flood barriers in flood prone areas.  This operation is in anticipation of possible flooding. 


Twenty-one maintenance crews from the upstate and midlands are deployed to assist with road clearing in the affected areas. SCDOT continues daily communication and coordination with other emergency service providers.
