Gov. McMaster orders lane reversals for mandatory evacuations on Tuesday

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Governor McMaster will hold a news conference updating the public on Hurricane Florence’s.

During the press conference Governor McMaster wants everyone to be prepared and issued the evacuation order so people don’t risk their lives.

McMaster stated that at noon on Tuesday, a mandatory evacuation of all people in Beaufort, Colleton, Charleston, Dorchester, Georgetown will begin. It was also stated that lane reversal will begin tomorrow at noon for I-26.

Officials believe that 1 million people will be leaving the coast by tomorrow and that 26 county state offices will be closing.

Offices and schools will not be open at all on Tuesday due to Hurricane Florence, officials added. Some schools will be used as shelters, according to Governor McMaster.

County and municipal governments will choose when to close their buildings, Governor McMaster added. Mandatory evacuations of all medical facilities and nursings homes, according to officials.
